Great White Shark weathervane
Customer Photos
"Dear
LizAnne
Thank you for your help with this project. Everyone loves the
weathervane. The Logo for NSU is a shark and this weathervane fits the Law
student residence pool and patio area perfectly.
Thank you,
Gary "" |
The Great White Shark (Carcharodon
carcharias) & Rockfish (Sebastes) weather vane featured in
this image consists of a copper fish, sand and sea kelp. The Sea Lettuce and
Rockfish are done in brass. Because our vanes are made to order, the
choice of metals can be modified at the time an order is placed.
The eyes are made from handcrafted glass eyes with black
pupils. People who order this weather vane get to choose the eye color they want
for their weather vane.
If you prefer, we can eliminate the sandy bottom, sea
lettuce and Rockfish and make the Great White Shark itself larger. For example, in the
Large Great White Shark image featured above, the overall length
of the sculpture is approximately 3 feet long. The Great White Shark itself is
about two feet long. If we just did the shark itself in the large
size, it's overall length would be 3 feet. The price would be the same but we
can make it either way, depending on your preference.

For
this weathervane, we actually order custom shark eyes to give the shark a
more animated appearance. (below)

Shark Eye (Yikes!)
The eyes
are made from handcrafted glass eyes with black pupils.
If you
prefer, we offer a variation of the shark where we can locate it into a
seascape environment. (Please see the drawing of the shark with the sandy
bottom, sea lettuce and Rockfish). When we make the
Great White Shark by itself in
the Large size (three-foot sculpture piece), the shark is ~3 feet in size.
In the seascape version, when you order the Large size (three-foot sculpture
piece size), the Great White Shark
itself is about two feet long as you also get the additional seascape
features such as the kelp and rockfish. The price would be the same either
way, it’s just a matter of which version most appeals to you.
In the
Great White Shark weather vane featured here, we added optional
gold leaf to the shark’s teeth, belly and the undersides of the fins.
Customers can choose to have their weathervane made all copper (see customer
photo at Nova Southeastern University), copper and brass of have gold leaf
accents added according to their own aesthetic preferences.
