This all
copper Afghan Dog weathervane features a glass eye and distinctive tooling
which gives the fur a realistic texture on the body. Customers can
provide photographs of their special canine pets for a customized weather vane depicting
their favorite dog. Glass eye color can be selected to accommodate a
variety of dog eye colors.
The
breed was always thought to date back at least to the pre-Christian era, and
recent discoveries by researchers studying ancient DNA have revealed that the
Afghan Hound is in fact one of the most ancient dog breeds, dating
back for many thousands of years. Its original native name, Tazi,
betrays its connection to the very similar Tasy breed of Russia. The proximity
of southern Russia and Afghanistan argue for a common origin for both breeds.
Initially,
Afghan people refused to sell their national dog to outsiders; the breed was not
seen in Europe and America until after the turn of the 20th century. AKC and CKC
did not recognize the Afghan Hound until the 1930s

time you call, we will provide you with an estimated completion date.
At the time the order is placed, a deposit of 1/3
is due. Upon receipt of the deposit, time will be reserved in our
schedule. The balance is due when the weather vane has been completed and
prior to shipping. Deposits can be made with Visa, MasterCard or check.
All West Coast Weather Vanes are custom made for
the person who orders them.
