Boxer owners are passionate about their breed as you can see from the multiple variations we have created on our original Box weathervane design. We can make the Boxer weathervane as a male or female dog, with a docked tail or natural tail, cropped or uncropped ears, we can add a collar with your dog(s) names on it, we can make it a tri-color using copper, palladium and gold leaf or a brindle (see our Brindle Greyhound as an example) and we can vary the pose or combine it with other dogs. So feel free to go with our standard Boxer weathervane design or ask us to make a personal variation based on your dog!
This copper Boxer Dog & Westie weathervane features a glass eyes and distinctive tooling which gives the bodies realistic dimensions. The use of brass or gold leaf can be incorporated to reproduce a tri-color effect which in enhanced as the copper and brass develop a patina. Customers can provide photographs of their special canine pets for a customized weather vane depicting their favorite dog. Glass eye color can be selected to accommodate a variety of dog eye colors. As an option, the use of gold leafing can accentuate any distinct markings of your dog.
The ancestors of this breed were the German Bullenbeisser, a dog of Mastiff descent, and the English Bulldog. The Bullenbeisser had been working as a hunting dog for centuries, employed in the pursuit of bear, wild boar, and deer. Its task was to seize the prey and hold it until the hunters arrived. In later years, faster dogs were favored and the Bullenbeisser grew smaller and was then called the Brabanter.
In the late 19th century, the Brabanter was crossed with an English Bulldog to start the line that would become the modern Boxer. In 1894, three Germans by the name of Roberth, Konig, and Hopner decided to stabilize the breed and put it on exhibition at a dog show. This was done in Munich in 1895, and the next year they founded the first Boxer Club.

At the time the order is placed, a deposit of 1/3 is due. Upon receipt of the deposit, time will be reserved in our schedule. The balance is due when the weather vane has been completed and prior to shipping. Deposits can be made with Visa, MasterCard or check.
