This copper Irish Wolfhound Dog weathervane features glass eyes, gold leafed patterns and distinctive tooling which gives the fur a realistic texture on the body. Customers can provide photographs of their special canine pets for a customized weather vane depicting their favorite dog. Glass eye color can be selected to accommodate a variety of dog eye colors. Personalized dog weathervanes can feature gold-leafing to bring out your pet's distinctive markings, as well as dog collars bearing your dog's name.
The The Irish Wolfhound is a breed of dog (a sighthound), bred to hunt. The name originates from its purpose rather than from its appearance: To hunt wolves. These dogs are the tallest breed of dog in the world.
The breed is very old, possibly from the 1st century BC or earlier, bred as war dogs by the ancient Celts, who called them Cú Faoil. The Irish continued to breed them for this purpose, as well as to guard their homes and protect their stock. Regular references of Irish Wolfhounds being used in dog fights are found in many historical sagas. During times of conflict with England, it was not uncommon for Wolfhounds to be trained to take armored knights off of their horses, thus allowing an infantry man to move in and finish the kill if the Wolfhound has not done so already.

At the time the order is placed, a deposit of 1/3 is due. Upon receipt of the deposit, time will be reserved in our schedule. The balance is due when the weather vane has been completed and prior to shipping. Deposits can be made with Visa, MasterCard or check.
