Goat Weather Vane Pricing
This Pygmy Goat Weathervane was originally created for a
customer in Florida. She was building a large horse barn (16,500
square feet) so she needed an extra-large (four-foot sculpture
piece) weathervane for the central cupola. She also ordered two
large (three foot sculpture piece) Arrow Weathervanes for the two
smaller flanking cupolas. Rather than do a more traditional horse
weathervane, she opted to have us make a weathervane based on one of
her favorite companion animals, a Pygmy Goat named Fern.

As you can see, we added an optional fern motif to the weathervane
as well as a collar with Fern’s name on it. We also added an
optional copper bell to the goat’s collar. If you look at the
close-up view of the goat’s head, you can see the custom glass eyes
we used, complete with horizontal pupils.
A pygmy
goat is
a small domesticated breed of goat.
Although they produce a very large amount of milk for
their size, they are more popular as companion animals.
Pygmy goats are small and stout, and have a full coat of straight,
medium-length hair. Male Pygmy goats have full, long beards.
Pygmy goats tend to be more robust
and breed more continually throughout the year than either dairy or
meat goats.
The Pygmy Goat was originally called the Cameroon Dwarf Goat and
comes from Cameroon in West Africa. In the United States and
elsewhere, Pygmy goats are raised mainly as companion animals
although they also are popular as pets, exhibition animals, and are
widely seen in petting zoos. They are used to keep land cleared or
may be found in urban backyards, depending, of course, on local
regulations concerning livestock ownership.
We even use lifelike goat
eyes to give the weathervane a more animated appearance:
