We have made this passage horse weathervane with and without a rider. If you look closely you will see that the leg positions, manes and tails on the three horses are all slightly different. Because each weathervane is made to order, we are often able to accommodate customer's requests for additional personalization.
Both Passage Horse weathervane with riders shown here are portrait weathervanes. Our customers sent us photos and we worked with them to create one-of-a-kind weathervanes. As you can see, age, hairstyles, attire and even the horse’s markings can vary from weathervane to weathervane. While both of these weathervanes happen to represent women riders, we can certainly make this weathervane with male riders as well. We do charge a fee to personalize the weathervanes. The fee varies depending on the extent of the modifications. If you have something in mind, please give us a call and we would be happy to discuss it with you.
The purest form of classical riding, as well as dressage, High School dressage, of Haute Ecole, take years for both the horse and rider to master. When a horse has finished its training, it can not only perform Grand Prix dressage movements like collect and extended gaits, passage, and piaffe, but can perform "Airs Above the Ground." These include the courbette, capriole, levade, and ballotade. All these movements come from when the horse was used in war, and these were for protection against the enemy

At the time you call, we will provide you with an estimated completion date.
At the time the order is placed, a deposit of 1/3 is due. Upon receipt of the deposit, time will be reserved in our schedule. The balance is due when the weather vane has been completed and prior to shipping. Deposits can be made with Visa, MasterCard or check.
All West Coast Weather Vanes are custom made for the person who orders them.
