The Water Skiing Woman weathervane shown here was commissioned by an avid water-skier. Her home overlooks a beautiful lake in Indiana on which many people water ski. She thought that a Water Skiing weather vane would be an appropriate design considering her interest in the sport. Because her home is visible from the lake, she also thought her water skiing neighbors would enjoy seeing it as well.
We worked from photos of our customer when we created this design. The Waterskiing Woman sculpture piece has translucent blue glass jewels for eyes and short flying hair. In addition, we used optional gold leaf on her face, arms and legs and optional palladium leaf (silver colored) to create the streaks in the waves caused by her passage though the water. As the copper darkens and begins to move through the patina process, the gold and palladium accents should offer a lively contrast that keeps the sculpture piece visually interesting.
Since we make each weathervane to individual order, we can adapt the design to represent a male water skier, a racing water skier, a child, etc. Hair, clothing, etc. can all be modified to make the resulting weathervane more personal. At the time you call, we will provide you with an estimated completion date.
At the time the order is placed, a deposit of 1/3 is due. Upon receipt of the deposit, time will be reserved in our schedule. The balance is due when the weather vane has been completed and prior to shipping. Deposits can be made with Visa, MasterCard or check.
