Please click on the thumbnails above for more information on these designs The Squirrel weathervane is one of our earliest designs. It still remains one of most popular. Because squirrels are often seen up high in trees or running along the tops of fences or along rooflines, a squirrel weather vane seems an ideal candidate for a roof top setting. Plus, we guarantee our Squirrel will not dig up your bulbs or create a nuisance in your garden!
Since we make each weathervane to order, we can make yours entirely in copper, in a combination of copper and brass, or most popularly, with optional gold leafed accents on the squirrel’s belly and the body of the nut. Especially if you have a visually competitive background such as trees, a hillside or other houses in the background, the gold leafed accents help your eyes separate it from its backdrop. The Squirrel Weathervane detail photo above right shows brown glass eyes with black pupils and optional gold leaf on the acorn and the squirrel's underbelly.

A squirrel is one of the many small or medium-sized rodents in the family Sciuridae. In the English-speaking world, "squirrel" commonly refers to members of this family's genera Sciurus and Tamiasciurus, which are tree squirrels with large bushy tails, indigenous to Asia, the Americas and Europe. Similar genera are found in Africa. The Sciuridae family also include flying squirrels, as well as ground squirrels such as the chipmunks, prairie dogs, and woodchucks..

At the time you call, we will provide you with an estimated completion date.
At the time the order is placed, a deposit of 1/3 is due. Upon receipt of the deposit, time will be reserved in our schedule. The balance is due when the weather vane has been completed and prior to shipping. Deposits can be made with Visa, MasterCard or check.
All West Coast Weather Vanes are custom made for the person who orders them.
