Personalizing vs. Commissioning a Weathervane
To get started, there is a difference between ‘personalizing’ a weathervane and ‘commissioning’ a weathervane.
Personalizing a weathervane means making modifications to an existing weathervane design. For example, you may want a different mane or tail on one of our Arabian Horse Weathervanes or you might want a different type of wine glass on our Wine Bottle and Glasses weathervane. Some personalizations are included in the price of the your weathervane and others may add to the cost.
Because we make each weathervane to individual order, there are truly an infinite number of ways in which you can personalize your weathervane. Some personalizations are included in the price of your weathervane and some will add to its cost. For inspiration as well as clarification, we’ve provided links to some of the most popular personalization options below. Commissioning a weathervane means creating an entirely new design with your input. You can choose to have the only version of this design ever made or you may choose to allow us to make additional versions of this new weathervane. A new commission design fee will be less expensive if we have permission to make additional versions of that design. If we are making the weathervane exclusively for you the design fee will be higher, obviously, because all of the preparation, problem solving and design expense is for a one time use.
