Simple Swell-Bodied Weathervanes
We use a standard gauge copper when making Simple Swell-Bodied Weathervanes. The weathervane sculpture piece has two shaped sides which are soldered together. Musculature and other details are kept to a minimum. The sculpture pieces are hollow inside.
This style weathervane is usually stronger than Silhouette Weathervanes because they are double sided and have a vertical mounting tube inside them for strength. They take longer to make than silhouettes and require a different set of technical skills, but take less time than Detailed Swell-Bodied Weathervanes. For this reason, they are typically priced somewhere mid-way between the two.
An advantage to Swell-Bodied and Full Bodied Weathervanes is their strength in all sizes.
