Dog Weathervane – Australian Shepherd Play Bow

Australian Shepherd Weather Vane Play Bow

Our Australian Shepherd in a Play Bow Weathervane is a portrait sculpture piece, personalized from our customer’s photos. To accent the markings of their blue merle they chose optional gold and palladium leaf to match the dog’s coat. We also included a collar with a tag bearing their dog’s name.

Many of the Australian Shepherd Weather Vanes we have made over the years have been personalized in some way. We have constructed red merles, blue merles and tricolors. Some customers send us photos to match the markings of their dogs, others want collars and tags, and still others want a butterfly instead of a hummingbird or even substitute an impertinent squirrel for the plant. And we have made some of our Aussies with one blue eye and one brown eye! Each weathervane is constructed to individual order allowing us to personalize according to individual preferences.

In checking our records, I noticed that most of our Australian Shepherd vanes have been ordered as gifts for birthdays and holidays. Recipients have mounted their weathervanes on top of garages, main houses, in garden settings and indoors on top of a bookcase. The actual installation site for your weathervane will determine the size you need. Medium is our most popular sized weathervane, the two-foot sculpture piece being effective in many settings. We are happy to answer any questions you might have about determining the best sized weathervane for your display location.

Australian Shepherds are typically highly energetic, requiring a great deal of exercise and attention, although some can be calm and easygoing. They learn quickly and love to play. Aussies also do best with plenty of human companionship, especially with their owners, with whom they form intense, devoted bonds. Aussies are one of the few breeds known for “smiling” by baring their teeth. A hallmark of the breed, some Aussies are born with naturally bobbed tails.
