Our copper Boxer Dog and Westie Weathervane features brown glass eyes with black pupils and hand shaping giving both dogs their realistic appearances. These playful friends are rendered unique by using copper in combination with optional gold leafing to match each dog’s markings. Our customers for this pair sent us photographs of their special canines and specified gender and posing for a customized tableau.
Whether you have a Boxer, West Highland Terrier, or a beloved mutt, your dogs can be crafted as male or female, with docked or natural tails, cropped or uncropped ears, or any other distinction of note. We can also add a collar with your dog(s) name(s), and we can replicate a tri-color Boxer, or a brindle, using custom texturing tools, copper, brass, palladium and gold leaf. These effects are enhanced as the copper and brass develop their patinas. Upon request, we vary the pose or combine a Boxer or Bulldog or Westie with other dogs, even a Mastiff. Kitties too! So feel free to go with any of our standard dog weathervane designs and personalize it to represent your own personal pack!
The Boxer is a breed of stocky, medium-sized, short-haired dogs developed in Germany. Their coat is smooth and tight-fitting; colors are fawn or brindled, with or without white markings. Their easily recognizable heads are their most distinctive feature, notable for their square muzzles, mandibular prognathism (an underbite), very strong jaws, and a powerful bite. The Boxer was bred from the Old English Bulldog and the now extinct Bullenbeisser, and is part of the Molosser group.
The West Highland White Terrier, commonly known as the Westie or Westy, is a Scottish breed of dog with a distinctive white coat. The breed is very popular in the UK and United States. It has been featured in television and film including in Hamish Macbeth and in advertising by companies such as Cesar dog food and Scottish whisky Black & White. It is a medium-sized terrier, although with longer legs than other Scottish breeds of terrier. The Westie is an active breed, normally independent, assured and self-confident and can make good watchdogs.
