Our Triple Dachshund Dog Weathervane is crafted from copper sheet in the swell bodied style with glass eyes and distinctive tooling that conveys the fur and gives the dogs a more realistic appearance. The “Doxies” pictured here are a portrait piece. We worked from photos and with our customers to capture the essence of their sweet ‘pack’.
During the course of making this weathervane, one of our customer’s dogs, Coco, unexpectedly passed away and a new puppy named Hank joined their family, making this weathervane both a memorial and a celebration of new life, all in one! We added a personalized inscription to their weathervane and included “lucky” pennies to commemorate the birth of each dog. Palladium and gold leafing accents were chosen to demarcate the markings of the individual dogs.
We can also make individual Dachshund Weathervanes based on any one of these three designs.
