Dog Weathervane – English Setter Pointing

Pointing English Setter Weather Vane

This copper English Setter Pointing Dog Weathervane is crafted in swell bodied style and features distinctive tooling which gives the fur a realistic texture on the body. The artists in our shop have each created a personal set of hammers for working with detailed textures. The dog’s glass eye color is chosen at the time of ordering to further depict the dog you envision. With the aid of your photos we can further personalize your dog weather vane in nuances of stature or stance. With the additional option of gold or palladium leaf gilding we can bring out your pet’s distinctive spots with a visual brightness that will remain for many decades. You may also choose to add a collar, or collar and tag inscribed with your dog’s name.

Our customer’s for the dog pictured sent us photos of Luke so that we would get the marking and stance exactly right. They also requested a wider collar with Luke’s name in large letters made distinct by gold leafing the collar and letting the copper reveal the name.

The English Setter is a gun dog, bred for a mix of endurance and athleticism. The coat is flat with light feathering of long length. They have a long, flowing coat that requires regular grooming. The various speckled coat colors when occurring in English Setters are referred to as belton; valid combinations are white with black flecks (blue belton) or with orange flecks (orange belton (depending on the intensity of the color) or they might be lemon belton or liver belton), or white with black and tan flecks (tricolour belton).
