Our Labrador on Shotgun Weathervane is popular with hunters, gun collectors, and dog lovers alike. It was first commissioned as a tribute to a beloved canine friend, and hunting companion. The family was building a new home that would have a cupola perfectly located for a weather vane.
The pictures seen here show the dog with optional collar and inscribed tag. The collar also has an inscription of the family name on one side and the dog’s name on the other.
This copper weather vane is crafted in detailed swell-bodied style. The customer sent us photos of both the dog and the gun, to assist us in getting the details correct in this personalized design. The customer further personalized the design by choosing very dark glass eyes, with pupils, and optional gold and palladium leafing to create bright contrast on the dogs collar and the gun as the copper changed color in the weathering process.
