Dog Weathervane – Wire Fox Terrier Jumping with Ball

Wire Haired Terrier Weather Vane

This copper Wire Fox Terrier Dog Weathervane features glass eyes, optional gold leafed markings and distinctive tooling which gives the fur a realistic texture on the body. This is a portrait weathervane of a beloved pet whose raison d’etre  was playing with his favorite ball.

To create a portrait you can provide photographs of your special canine pet for a personalized weather vane. Personalized dog weather vanes can feature gold-leafing to bring out distinctive markings, as well as dog collars inscribed with your dog’s name or we can add a tag in the shape of a dog bone, a heart or a circle. Using a combination of these options, we can incorporate up to three dog’s names on your weather vane! We do this by putting one dog’s name on one side of the collar, another dog’s name on the opposite side of the collar and a third name on the dog tag. The collar and/or tag can be optionally gold leafed as well. These bright demarcations will create a distinct contrast as the copper of your  weather vane weathers.

You can further commemorate the dogs of your life by having us seal ‘Lucky Pennies’ from the years of their births inside the sculpture piece in addition to the traditional penny from its fabrication.

The name Fox Terrier or Foxy refers primarily to two different breeds of dog, the Smooth Fox Terrier and the Wire Fox Terrier, that were independently bred in England in the mid-19th century. The two terrier breeds are very similar, with the only major difference being the coats. The Smooth Fox Terrier has a smooth, flat, but hard and dense coat, whereas the Wire Fox Terrier coat should appear broken with a dense, wiry texture.
