This sensational Guitar Weathervane is a detailed depiction of the historic Fender Stratocaster. It was commissioned in the highly detailed Extra Large size to be mounted on the cupola of a new music room our customer was building to both have a place to make his music and to display his extensive guitar collection.
Optional gold and or palladium leafed details can also be added to this weathervane to provide a striking contrast as the weathervane goes through the patina process. (If ordered in Medium size some fine detail must be omitted.)*
Thomas, our specialist in crafting man made constructs, thoroughly enjoyed the process of replicating the fine detail of this piece. In his words, ‘The Stratocaster is an iconic Rock and Roll guitar. I tried to keep that in mind while detailing this larger than life example.’
The Fender Stratocaster was first designed and manufactured in 1954. Because of its historic breakthroughs in electric guitar sound it is still popular today. The Stratocaster is the first guitar to feature three pickups and a floating spring tension tremolo system, which provide an astonishing variety in the type of sound produced. The Stratocaster was a favored guitar of Beatles John Lennon and George Harrison and was significant in the sound profile of a number of their albums.
