The Handlebar Mustache Weathervane pictured above was commissioned by a business-owning, handlebar mustache adorned client to mount atop his establishment. And why not, it is his signature look and his customers recognize him by this elegant feature.
This swell-bodied vane is fabricated in copper. If, like this customer, you want it to appear a bright silver, it can optionally be gilded with palladium leaf. Our customer followed our sizing advice by making a template and looking at it from as far away as it will be when mounted. In the end, because of this detail, he settled on a custom size. He also had inscriptions included on both sides of the mounting rod, announcing the founding date of his business on one side and personal details and dates on the other.
Did you know there is an International Handlebar Moustache Club? We didn’t either. The object of the Club was, and still is, to bring moustache wearers (beards being strictly prohibited) together socially for sport and general conviviality. The original aim of the Club was to assist any worthy charity or cause, particularly those devoted to ex-servicemen. This aim remains today and they particularly help with children’s charities. The Handlebar Club humorously describes the style as “a hirsute appendage of the upper lip and with graspable extremities”.
