This Passage Horse Silhouette Weathervane was originally commissioned in small size as a gift from one best friend to another. As part of the birthday present, the gift giver made special wishes on two ‘lucky’ pennies, one from the year her childhood friend had been born and one from the year she was celebrating her birthday. We soldered these two pennies to the circular brass base that accompanies our small sized Weathervanes. In between the two pennies, our customer asked us to inscribe a wonderful Danish proverb:

THE ROAD TO A FRIEND’S HOUSE IS NEVER LONG

This weather vane has custom made glass eyes, giving it a very life like appearance! It also has optional gold leaf on the hooves and tail, reminiscent of the markings on the horse of the receiving the gift. Our customers sent us photos, to help in getting both stance and markings as accurate as possible.
