We have crafted this Dressage Passage Horse Weathervane with and without a rider, with slight differentiation in the leg position and tails on the two horses. Because each weather vane is made to order, we are often able to accommodate customer’s requests for additional personalization. Depending on the changes requested, we may charge a fee to make the changes, especially if they require submitting the reworked design for your approval. As our technical skill has grown, we are often able to make the entire lower body as one piece. Though most sizes can be fabricated from solid sheets of copper, the largest sizes do require seams with the head and neck as a separate piece, but we place the joint at a natural contour in the horse’s body. We have also made the Passage Horse as a Silhouette Weathervane.

Optional gold or palladium gilding on the mane, tail and leg wraps adds visual interest, and makes the detailed marking of a particular horse possible. The Dressage Horse, Passage weather vane featured in this photo has custom made glass eyes. They give it a very life like appearance!

It is a popular weather vane in our catalog, one customer ordered both this Passage Horse and the Dressage, Extended Trot. Another customer ordered this vane, a Bear & Bunny,  and a Red Shouldered Hawk.

Each of our weathervanes is custom made to order, each unique, though part of a limited number series. The eyes are glass, with a nice selection of colors. The horizontal tube can be inscribed. Also included is a penny from the year of manufacture, sealed into the sculpture piece. Additional ‘lucky‘ pennies can be included representing important dates for the recipient.
