Our Gypsy Vanner Horse Weathervane was first commissioned as a portrait of a favorite mare. We love the activity of the design. It was a bit of a structural challenge figuring out how to fulfill our customer’s vision of having all four feet off the ground, as this beloved horse was so often seen.

Our artists fabricated the sculpture piece from copper in high detail swell-bodied style. The customer selected optional palladium leaf gilding to replicate the distinct markings of their mare, and brown glass eyes.

These customers recently sent this note:

FINALLY, it is up and we LOVE it! My husband does have a good camera and I will have him take some better shots of it. Thank you again, it is spectacular.

We love personalizing weather vanes and with the help of photos capturing the individual physical nuances that create a portrait.
