The Hummingbird with Flowers Weather Vane, Trochilidae, featured here was originally commissioned by a woman whose passions were cymbidium orchids and bird watching. We were able to combine both of her loves into one weathervane. As shown, we’ve added optional gold leaf to the flower blossoms, arrow tip, the hummingbird’s wings and tail. We also used brass to accent the strap-like leaves of the orchid.

We purposely made the hummingbird species non-specific, but we also offer an Anna’s Hummingbird Weather Vane and a Ruby-Throated Hummingbird Weather Vane. If you are a hummingbird fan we can personalize this weathervane for you, featuring a specific type of hummingbird, if that is your preference. Similarly, we can adapt the flower variety to one of your choice.

Of note, any time a weathervane sculpture piece consists of multiple delicate design elements (in this case the hummingbird, the three flowers and the plant) each of the individual elements is smaller within the overall design than a weathervane that contains only one solid design element (for example, a grizzly bear). This may influence the size of weathervane you would select for your particular installation environment, particularly if you are in between two sizes, as referenced in our Sizing Guidelines.
