Our Jumping Horse Weathervane, Over Branch is a variation on one of our earliest horse weather vane designs. This customer requested we personalize their vane sculpture piece to both capture the form of their own jumping horse and to replace the classic jumper’s gate with a stylized branch.
Any of our Jumping Horse Weathervanes can have an optional equestrian added to the sculpture piece. Another option is to select whether the rider is a man, woman or child. In fact, your weather vane can actually be a portrait of the rider and their horse. For portrait weathervanes we will of course need pictures of the person and direction as to the type of riding attire: dressage, fox hunter, eventer, show jumper, etc.
If you have questions about a variation on this design, please give us a call we can talk over the details. You also have a choice of metals: all copper, copper and brass, or copper with optional gold leaf and/or palladium accents.
We usually give our horses brown glass eyes with black pupils to give them a more lifelike and animated appearance. But, again, that is your choice. You would also choose the eye color for an added rider. We normally make human eyes translucent because it is fun to see the light shining through them when the sun angle is right.
Jumping horses is fun and naturally has a long tradition in sport. Barn Show jumping, also known as ‘stadium jumping’, ‘open jumping’, or ‘jumpers’, is a member of a family of English riding equestrian events that also includes dressage, eventing, hunters, and equitation. Jumping classes are commonly seen at horse shows throughout the world, including the Olympics.
