Our King Charles Cavalier Spaniel Weathervane was commissioned as a commemorative portrait of our customer’s beloved pet. They sent us photos of “Lizzie” which we used to create the weathervane design for their approval. We used optional gold leafing on the copper to match her light colored markings. Our master artisans have, through the years, created special hammers, and developed techniques to replicate the distinctive fur and muscle tone of many animals. This knowledge was very handy in the fabrication of this particular weathervane, as we wanted to capture the nuances of Lizzie’s personality and body type. Another special touch of remembrance and personalization is to add an optional collar, with or without a bone or heart shaped tag. Either or both of these can be inscribed with your dog’s name. Considered a Toy breed by the Kennel Club, these little ones are known to be incredibly sweet and adaptable to many situations. They are good with children and elders, and careful with everyone. They were originally used in hunting, and known to keep up with a trotting horse. But they were so sweet and cute they were largely pets first, hunting dogs second. Please enjoy our Spaniel Gallery:
