This whimsical Ladybug Weathervane, Coccinellidae, is a perfect complement to a flower, herb or vegetable garden, potting shed, gazebo or simply a home where gardening is a passion. It is crafted from copper in swell bodied style. For the body you can choose either gold leafed or palladium leafed spots (included in the price). We can also do the legs and antennae in copper, brass, nickel silver, or optionally leafed in palladium or gold, depending on your preference. As pictured here, the customer chose palladium for the spots, legs and antennae.
Coccinellidae is a family of beetles, known variously as ladybirds (British English, Australian English, South African English), ladybugs (North American English) or lady beetles (preferred by some scientists). The family name comes from its type genus, Coccinella. Coccinellids are found worldwide, with over 5,000 species described, more than 450 native to North America alone.
