Our Longboard Surfboard Weather Vane is a popular design for people living near the coast where surf breaks are prevalent. Here in Santa Cruz County, where we live, many world class surfers make their home. In fact, over the years, a number of our weathervane makers have been avid surfers, giving us lots of expertise in this area.

This Surfboard Weather Vane can be made with several variations. We can make it all copper or add an optional gold leaf trim line around the surfboard. In one case, we added an optional gold leafed Plumeria flower to the board. As the copper deepens to a deep chocolate brown, the unchanging gold leaf accents stand out in beautiful contrast with the weathered copper. We can basically replicate any style surfboard and use optional gold and/or palladium (silver colored) leaf to show stripes, trim lines, and/or decals specific to the surfer or surf shop for whom the weathervane is being made.

This particular weather vane was originally commissioned by a customer who was building a new home on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii, a well known surfing destination. The North Shore is best known for its massive waves, attracting surfers from all around the globe. A good choice for a new home overlooking one of the most breathtaking vistas anywhere on the planet!

Whether you surf on a longboard, shortboard or something in between, we can customize this weathervane to reflect your surfing style. Please give us a call to discuss your options. If you are in construction right now, we have most standard installation hardware in stock and can send it out as soon as an order is placed, with your custom weathervane sculpture piece following as soon as it is completed.

It was such a pleasure to meet you both and to tour your beautiful home, property, and workshop! We truly appreciate the craftsmanship and personal touches that you put into each and every piece. It is wonderful to discover that such dedication is not a lost art. Thank you!’
